We Swam in the Sea.

We swam in the sea, in late August.
It was 8am, our friends stayed on the beach and held the dog and our child.
We ventured out, the tide was high. Our child cried.
We clenched our fists and clutched our hands tight to our chests.
I committed to fully submerging, on coming up I let out sharp, stifled grunts.
We smiled and held each other, under the water.
I told you I loved you.
I dived under again. And then again.
I was somehow warmer for the water.
We laughed and looked back at our landing party.
Our child was crying.
We agreed on one last dip and dance before heading back to comfort him.
